A new cinema has been built in the heart of Kampen on the new market square, de Plantage. The building fits in well between the historical façades. It still has a new and contemporary feel though and meets what can be expected of such a building; it is attractive and alluring. What’s immediately noticeable is the brick façade, in part because of the trapezium shape of the stone that has been used. The old listed cinema, the Citytheater, has been integrated into the design. The entrance to this cinema was on the street at the back. This is now the rear of the building and acts as an emergency exit. The cinema has three screening rooms, a foyer and a spacious entrance onto the marketplace, de Plantage. There is an optimal connection with the marketplace thanks to the large open space and the glass façade.
